It's 1922 and British archeologist Howard Carter has been sifting through the sands of Egypt’s Valley of the Kings for six years, searching for the hidden tomb of Tutankhamen. His partner has become discouraged and urges him to quit. Making one more effort Carter discovers a mysterious stairway. Digging through 3000 years of sand and rock, he finally reaches a door marked with the sign of Tutankhamen. His monumental efforts are finally rewarded.

Playwright Steve Seyfried has provided a thoroughly delightful trip into the past. The play brings the ancient and modern worlds together as Howard Carter truly finds King Tut and then introduces him to the world. In his afterlife, Tutankhamen becomes the superstar of Egyptian kings - complete with a world treasure tour!

"The productions of Family Stages have always been a welcome addition to our calendar - witty, educational and a treat for students and staff." Germantown Academy, Fort Washington, PA
